This hand carved hawk is one of our most detailed pieces and is extremely difficult to carve. Many carvers are not able to achieve this level of high quality flawless detail throughout a whole piece which makes this carving very unique.

Hand carved on the island of Bali, the process of making this hawk begins when the carver whittles down the wet albizia wood to a rough outline shape. One this has been done, a very sharp knife is used to create the definitive shapes and carving outline.

The tip of the knife is then used to make the carved in details to the face and wings. One all of the detail has been added, the carving is kiln dried (to extract any moisture - preventing future cracking), stained and polished.
