The Albizia Tree

Albizia falcataria often referred to as ‘The Miracle Tree’ is one of the fastest growing trees in the world. Within its first four years of growth the tree reaches approximately 70 feet in height and boasts a circumference of around 3 feet 7 inches. Once the tree is harvested, many new shoots emerge and the next cycle beings with the trees existing root system already in place to support new growth.

All of our wood products are hand carved in Bali, Indonesia from Albizia wood. It is a completely renewable, eco-friendly source which is slowly replacing the ever diminishing supply of hardwoods. Many people pick up our products and think they are inferior due to them being light weight, this is however a misconception. The wood is strong and durable and is used for all applications such as furniture making and flooring.

Heavier Albizia products are often carved from this existing tree root when it is excavated meaning that no part of the tree goes to waste. Any wood produced from the tree that is not of an acceptable quality to use for carvings is used as firewood or as pulp wood for paper products.
