Rustic Elephant - Standing Tall

Finished with the simple elements of light brown stain and soft pastel paints, this hand carved elephant is very neutral and will fit with the majority of home decor accents. This elephant is carved on the island of Bali, Indonesia from albizia wood.

The process involved starts with the harvesting of the albizia tree, the wood is then milled into blocks. The carver then takes this still wet wood, and carves the shape of the animal. At this point, the wood is dried in a kiln to extract any moisture. One this process is finished the fine details are added to the elephant and it is finished with paint and stain.
